What performance skills can I pay you for?

Thank you for offering to pay for my time, talent, and expertise! I appreciate being paid in current currency and not exposure! (You should see the looks I get when I try to pay Verzion Wireless in applause and “likes”.)  I can offer feature acts, ambient entertainment, and even full length shows with enough notice. This could be aerial (silks, trapeze, or rope ladder), stilt dancing, or clown. We can also come up with something unique for your event like a living statue, fortune teller, hula hoop instructor, etc. If you’re looking for something else, let me know your vision! I love to connect other artists in my network to potential work opportunities!

 

Do you have any full length shows ready to go that I can pick from?

Individually, I have a 20 min stilt dance show that is a staged adaptation of, “Have You Ever Zeen a Ziz?”. My company, StoryUp!, has a 45 min aerial storytelling show. You can find more information about that here. 

 

What kind of space do you need to perform?

If I am stilting, most any terrain is fine except for mud pits or mushy grass. I will sink. For aerial, I can either hang from what is available in your space if it meets safety specifications. It is easiest if you send me a message about your space. Or I can bring a portable rig that requires at least 18 ft. of height clearance. I do need access to the space before patrons arrive to set up for aerial. 

 

Do you have insurance? 

I absolutely do! In addition to my own personal health insurance, I carry performers insurance. This covers damage to the space and patrons in any event something would happen. So you’re not liable for a thing!

 

What are your rates?

There are a lot of variables that go into rates- pandemics, travel time, the amount of physical energy involved, years of training, costumes, etc. In general, rates will start at $125 for just about anything, and go up from there. Working within a tighter budget? Believe me, I know what it’s like to not have money so contact me and let’s chat! 

 

How Far Will you Travel?

For an appropriate rate, I'll go as far as the moon! I love to travel for events and don't mind doing so. So the answer is, yes! I will come to you! Travel payment gets factored into the final rate quote.

I’d love to contact you to perform but what information do you need from me to give me a quote?

To start, please send the time, date, and location of the event. Please also include what type of performance you are interested in and the duration you’d like to have it for. If you know of any challenging obstacles that will be present at the event such as the entire floor is made of ice, or there are no bathrooms available, or there is only one door to enter and exit from- this can all be helpful in figuring out the time required for the event. 

 

Can I pick your brain about teaching strategies and/or how to make a living by being a professional performer?

Yes! I do offer teaching and artistic consultations at $50 an hour. You can ask me any questions you like, and I’ll dish on my experience in the business with plenty of tips and tricks to help you along your way. 

 

If I hire you for a performance, can I pick the costume and music?

Yes. Mostly. I have veto powers. But I will never veto anything from the 90’s.
