Katie Rebich is a dynamic creator and teacher of all things circus and theater, as well as co- artistic director of StoryUp!, a Durham based children's aerial storytelling company. Internationally educating and impacting students and audiences since 2009, she ignites a sense of wonder and empowerment in those that work with her. After completing her time as a Division 1 NCAA athlete, Katie discovered circus as a new way to physically engage and creatively express herself. Her formal training includes completing the Aloft Circus Arts Full Time Training program in 2014. Making her vision come to life, Katie majored in her original apparatus, rope ladder, while minoring in stilt dancing. She still continues to develop as an artist and instructor by taking every moment as a learning opportunity.

Katie began teaching in 2009 as a public high school teacher in North Carolina in theater and technical theater. She then continued to expand her repertoire to include adult and youth aerial silks, trapeze, aerial hoop, and basic circus ground skills (juggling, partner acrobatics, clowning, etc.). Katie believes that everyone has the strength and ability to succeed in all movement based arts. She enjoys helping confidence grow in her students and celebrating their strengths and abilities. Developing original curriculums tailored to each class makes learning a new skill for students enjoyable and filled with positive accomplishments.

As a performer, Katie has had the opportunity to perform for festivals in Europe and the U.S. She has also worked with corporations such as Patron and Molnlycke Health Care in various skill sets such as stilt walking and aerial bartending. Other acts publicly performed include aerial silks, duo trapeze, rope ladder, and aerial hoop.

Based out of Durham, North Carolina, Katie is available for workshops and performances in aerial silks, rope ladder, trapeze, stilt dancing, character, and much more! She loves to travel, so don't be afraid to reach out if you're not North Carolina based! Check out her other project, StoryUp! here.
